ISIS Bombings in Sri Lanka

On Easter Sunday 2019 a suicide bomber targeted and attacked a church leaving 350 people dead. Because the occasion took place at a church on a day so important to Christians, the attack is believed to be targeted towards Christians. The ones who are suspect to the crime have ties to ISIS which puts revenge on the spotlight for the case. Some speculate this behavior is backlash towards the New Zealand Mosque Shootings; however, this is just speculation.

While addressing the situation, President Maithripala Sirisena blames himself partly for the lack of security and notes that big changes will arise soon. There is a big divide of the people and government, many of which blame the president for lack of security.

Questions
Who Do you think is to blame?
What should the President do going forward in regards to the situation?

  1. I think that no one is really to blame, as no one could have predicted this happening. However, these attacks have been happening consecutively for a while, so the President should address this situation by finding a way to stop the terrorists, continuing Obama's legacy.

  5. I believe the President should move forward with fighting against ISIS. Even if they do not effect the US Trump should work to conqour ISIS.

  6. I believe there isn't really anyone to blame because there's no evidence on who's fault it was and either way there wasn't going to be a way to stop it.

  7. I think that no one is really to be blamed for the bombing, but there could have been better security at the church. To be honest, I don't think that the president can't really do anything to prevent this from happening again other than just having more secruity
