157 kids rescued from West Africa trafficking ring
In Lagos, Nigeria more than 220 people were saved in between the Nigeria and the republic of Benin with 150 or more being children some even as young as 11. Most of them have been abused and that this was there knew life, they wouldn't see there families again. some of them were forced to become sex workers, while most were servants in both countries. most of the kids in these countries are easy targets for easy forced labor and all this crime is fully for the money. trafficking in the countries of Africa is a popular way to get easy money as there is many smuggling networks for prostitution rings and labor camps. the kids in this situation were lucky because they got to be reunited with there families or they are placed in shelters.

- How do you think Nigerian and republic of Benin can address these issue?
- What should the punishment for the people that are trafficking kids be?
I think that the punishment for trafficking kids should be around the same a attempted murder. This is because they are putting these children's lives at risk and they children can be traumatized for the rest of their lives.
ReplyDeleteI think that the punishment for trafficking anyone let along kids should be a long time in jail and if/ when they get out they should be monitored closely and have MANY penalties against their name. What they are doing is like murder they are running these children's lives and many of them will suffer their entire lives.

I think the Nigerian and republic can take more safety measures and can have more security to prevent this from occurring. The punishment should be less than murder but should be considered a very high crime and should be taken very seriously.

I think that because some people love money, they will do anything for it. The government can address the issue, but it cant be fully solved or stopped. The punishment should be big, like a life sentence in jail.
ReplyDeleteI think many people try to do this for money since they are careless about what happens to the kids. The murderers should just go to jail, for the rest of their lifetime. The punishments should be critical because it isn't necessary to do this and it can really hurt the children too.

ReplyDeleteHuman trafficking should have worse consequences, especially for children. Selling people, even when they havent had a chance to live it yet, is so wrong and disturbing. Much longer jail times and fines should be put into play to deter people from committing such wrong doings.
