A high priest in Nigeria told a women that he had gotten a vision from God showing that she would take a trip over seas. The women was convinced that that was part of her near future, so the priest told her that he had a sister in Europe and she could make sure that she would be able to cross over and into Europe. The women agreed to go, and with doing so she also agreed to pay back the money the Priests sister would spend on her transportation. one the women got to Europe she was told that she had to pay $45,000, this was more than she imagined it would be. she was also told that the only way to pay off her debt was to become a prostitute. For the next 3 years she live was a living hell. With 10-15 men to attend in one night, and at times, more than one at a time her body was always in pain. After the 3 years of prostitution the women finally paid back her debt, got her passport back, and went back home to Nigeria. Once back at home the women reported the priest and his sister, who are now on trial, but came to them as a surprise for they both thought that she was dead. *this is a true story. And it still happens today.

1) If you were in the same situation as this women, do you think you would survive the 3 years of pay back?
2) Is there anyway, do you think, that human trafficking can be stopped one day? How?
3) There are many dirty cops in our system, do you think that they play a big part of keeping the trafficking on the down low?

There are not many "dirty cops in our system." You only ever see the bad ones because cops are expected to be good, and therefore do not make the headlines.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with you Barry. there are many cops in our system that are shady and due under the radar things. Cops are supposed to be good since they portray a large part of medias and such. So yes, there is a large chance that cops protect sex traffic leader for their own benefit.
ReplyDelete2) I'm not sure if human trafficking could ever be fully stopped, but I think overtime it is possible for it to happen less. If the new generations are taught about it are aware, it can decease human trafficking in the future.

There is always a way of trafficking I agree with Maile. There is no way to stop it yet. Based on how corrupt cops really are, They may be effecting this situation. I probably wouldn't haev survived those three years.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in this situation of this women I would try to return home if it was even a possibility and I would definitely not be able to survive those 3 years after reading what she went through. These women are true survivors and I hope that it a solution to this terrible problem can be solved.
