The Notre-Dame Fire

Image result for notre-dame fire

The 856-year-old Notre-Dame Cathedral roof and the spiral were set on fire on Monday. CNN has interviewed many construction workers and they came up with absolutely no evidence on who had started the fire nor why someone started the fire. Although the cause of the fire is unclear many people are still wanting to help rebuild the cathedral. Due to this cause it leaves many people still wondering how the fire started. Investigators have questioned 40 people but still have gotten nowhere. The cathedral catching on fire is still unclear but President Emmanuel Macron still fights for the cathedral to be built again for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Although the roof and the spiral were badly damaged the iconic bell towers, rosed windows and organs still work perfectly fine.

Questions:

1. What do you think started the fire at the Cathedral?

2. Who do you think wanted to burn down the Cathedral.

3. How do you think the people of France felt about this incident.

  1. I think that that that day in France was very depressing for most of the people their considering that it's been there for over 800 years. They probably feel like it might have had to do something with the tourists possibly because its such a huge attraction

  6. I think that someone who opposed catholics or didn't agree with the people who were part of the Cathedral would've wanted to burn it down. I think that the people of France were very sad and upset about the news because it is a part of their deep history and it has been there for over 800 years which is very important to their culture and beliefs. I think that they should rebuild the cathedral and try to restore it for the people of their country.

  9. I think that it should be rebuilt because it was such a special well known and beautiful place. It deserves to be rebuilt and that might take some time to do.

  10. I think that the fire was probably caused by something like a cigarette butt, or some other source from the construction workers since the spire was the only place where construction was taking place. I don't think anyone would want to burn down the cathedral. The people of France likely are very sad, especially since Notre Dame is a large religious symbol. However, it's being rebuilt, so they have hope.

  14. I think the fire was started from a lit cigarette butt or a faulty electrical wire, an accident. People all around the world, catholic or not, were upset by the fire. I feel sad for the French for this tragedy

  15. The people of France had probably felt devastated about the building burning down because it has been there for a humongous amount of time. Also, knowing that there were many important stuff inside as well is heartbreaking.

  16. The fire probably started accidently by something like a spark or something like that from a power tool used by one of the construction workers. Because of this fire, the people of France were devastated because it is something that is cherished by not only them, but also people all around the world and because of all the history that it holds.
