Our president Donald Trump is still trying to build a wall on the southern border. Trump use of national emergency declaration has been announced that he wants to secure money so he can build his wall. After the majority of the House voting to see if the wall should be built (245 votes including 13 Republicans voted).The senate is now to have all our faith to see if the wall should be built. People aren't so worried about the wall but the main story is will Republicans break and help President Trump build the wall. If Donald Trump is unable to get the votes he will veto it but that has to go back to the congress for a both sides to over turn the veto.

Yes, I do believe the republicans will break and help Trump build the wall because when they first heard of the wall they weren't so thrilled with the prospect but overtime the republicans started cooperating with Trump, but not just the republicans it's also GOP leaders who are starting to cooperate as well. :) -Rani M.
ReplyDeleteI think the wall is not a good idea. It is taking a lot of money to build and I think there are better issues that could be solved/ more serious things going on besides this. It would be better time spent discussing the effects that global warming will do to our earth.
ReplyDeleteThe wall should be built and would work in America's benefit more than its costs; for example, a wall in Israel has been effective in preventing people from crossing. However, I believe that republicans will vote against Trump's declaration of a national emergency, as they were against Obama's use of his powers regarding the EPA.

ReplyDeleteI think that republicans will help trump build the wall since they were the ones who voted for him with knowledge that if he was elected he was going to want to build the wall. I don't have a side on whether they should build the wall, but there are many mixed opinions on this topic. I don't think it's right but it's not a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteI think that the wall shouldn't be built. Building the wall would cause us to invert a lot of money on something that isn't really necessary, and we could use that same amount of money on more important issues.

i feel that the wall is unnecessary and a huge waste of money, its not necessarily a proven solution that will make everything better, so if its not a guarantee then why risk wasting all that money o it
ReplyDeleteI don't think Trump should build the wall. I think that everyone will eventually end up paying huge taxes for the wall to be built but passionate democrats will refuse. It's a waste of money and shows how America is really like. We are not allowing people to come into a supposed "free country", and discriminating against those who want another chance to prove themselves worthy of being free, in a different country.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with the wall. I think there can be more effective/humane ways to deal with immigration(which by the way our country is built on immigration so without it we would not be here) and that if we are going to build a wall between us and Mexico, we may as well build a wall all around the US and not let anyone in or out. How will the rest of the world see us if we suddenly start saying that no one and live in our country anymore? Yes some of those people come here and cause problems, but most of them come and do the work that no one else is willing to do. If this really is a "free country" then why are we ignoring the basic human rights? Why are we stopping people from providing the best possible life, even if it isn't that great, for their children? I believe the wall is evil and it should't happen. Sorry for writing so much.

ReplyDeleteI think the wall is pretty stupid. In my opinion, it is Trumps way of showing that he has power over the people. The wall isn't going to stop anything. If he thinks it will stop drug trafficking, most drug trafficking goes UNDER the border or through actual US citizens that cross the border.
