WhatsApp is helping people in India vote for more easier elections. Its causing around 800 million people to vote. Now political parties need to rest on spam messages. WhatsApps helped ban around 6 million accounts. They search for any suspicious activity in order to keep the competition fair. The WhatsApps company gave people a heads up on risky behavior and that their accounts will get a permanent ban. WhatsApps has a good reputation in India and that might affect based on others thoughts. They also have limits on how much they will get attacked and stamp out abuse. They have stopped indian governments and proposed tech regulations to require online platforms to stop unlawful accounts in the span of a day. "The proposed changes are over broad and are not consistent with the strong privacy protections that are important to people everywhere, not just in India but around the world," Carl Woog says. They also protect and help out indians who just start using the internet, making sure they don’t receive “rumors”.

  1. What is your opinion on WhatsApps status?
  2. Do you agree that it’s ok to Ban accounts?
  3. How will you think this will impact the rest of the world?

  1. I think there will be a small impact to peoples account since the user and the contact must have each others phone number saved to a address book.

  2. I think there will be a bigger impact because the app is reaching out to India and allowing India to vote which allows more people to vote.

  3. I think that there will be a bigger impact because more and more people are being able to vote and are going to. Like in India how whatsapp is reaching out to India and letting more people vote.

  4. I don't think that accounts should be banned. Especially if the accounts will be used as voting. WhatsApp might be able to ban people from actually voting which puts them in a position that the government would be in.

  5. No, I don't think it's okay to ban the accounts because they banned about 6 million accounts thinking that they were doing "suspicious activity" but when in reality they could've just been voting like a regular human being would do and also they shouldn't have banned the accounts because people are using it to vote. :) -Rani M.
