U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Vice President of Nicaragua

Image result for rosario murilloRecently the U.S. has urged sanctions on Nicaragua's vice president Rosario Murillo and has blamed her of corruption. Rosario Murillo has also violated human rights abuse. Rosario has held influence over a youth organization that the US stated seemed to have joined in judicial killings, torture, and kidnapping. Rosario and her husband Daniel Ortega have been ruling Nicaragua for over a decade. Rosario has been controlling police and the youth wing of the Sandinista liberation front. The US Treasury said it was using a new executive order issued by US President Donald Trump to punish Ms. Murillo, accusing her of undermining Nicaragua's democracy. The sanctions will ban US individuals, banks and other entities from carrying out transactions with the pair, who will also have any assets that fall under US jurisdiction frozen. Nicaragua has been through huge upheaval this year. In April, anti-government protesters demanded that the socialist president, Mr. Ortega, step down over unpopular pension reforms. However, he refused to negotiate and instead sent in the security forces.
Hundreds were then killed in the space of weeks.

  2. If mass killings continue to occur it's just going to cause more outburst and problems in Nicaragua considering that they have already been through a "huge upheaval" in this past year.

  3. If mass killings continue, Nicaraguan people might start to want to overthrow Rosario and more problems will probably occur within the people.

  5. If mass killings continue to happen in Nicaragua, it will become more corrupt. It may get to the point where they won't be able to support themselves at war which could lead it to getting overtaken and not existing anymore.
