(Borderline between Mexico and the U.S. )
On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, a new caravan will be formed by people in Honduras and Guatemala crossing illegally into Tijuana as a hope to better their lifestyle after crossing to the United States. Trump sees the caravans as more reason for him to build his wall as a solution to keeping them out of the United States. The Mexican president is also trying to prevent the migrants from entering Mexico illegally as for its chaos for both Mexico and the United States. People in Honduras and Guatemala see it as a successful way of getting to the United States since nobody is returning back to their country, as for they believe they will have the same luck and not get deported without seeing the risks they are taking.

ReplyDeleteThe blocking of the caravan isn't the best way to solve the immigration crisis but it’s the only solution as of now because the only other option is fortifying and militarizing our borders which could be taken as a declaration of war. In reality the caravan isn't even productive they come into the country seeking refuge but what they get is backlash and they don't understand America has limited resources to house them. When they get turned away the liberals think it's racism and prejudice against immigrants which isn't the case.
ReplyDeletePersonally I dont believe Trump should build the wall because all that it's going to do is cause more controversy between the countries and it's going to make us look bad overall and hurts our relationship with the other country. Also considering the cost of having to build a wall of almost 2000 miles will result in a very expensive amount.

Personally, I don't believe trump should build the wall because it blocks innocent people from having a better style. some more reason for not building the wall include: the cost of the wall can be used to repave and lower poverty rates in cites across america. The more Trump persists to build the wall, the lower livelihood of lowering poverty rates in the US.Z

DeleteI think people joining the caravans would only increase the President Trump’s want to build the wall and keep immigrants out, as it’s creating more issues in his thought. The caravans aren’t safe for children for anyone really, since their safety isn’t guaranteed in the process.

I believe Trump should not build the wall, but because there is no funding behind it. The wall would be very expensive and shoot the United States into more debt than it already is in. And this will cause more outrage between countries.

Yes, I do believe the caravans are making a change for the migrants. I think it is worth joining a caravan because most migrants are running away from their horrible lifestyle from before, so joining a caravan gives them hope for a new and better lifestyle. :) -Rani M.
ReplyDeleteCaravans may help migrants get into the US, but blocking the caravans wouldn't help many people either. Making a wall wouldn't stop Mexican attempts to get into US since they want to get there, legally or not. Migrant children are in a similar situation as normal migrants, but they may be blocked and be put into a difficult situation, as they will be attempting to abandon their home to leave to the US.

You have to remember, that is only the 1st blockade. The second blockade is much more harder to cross, and the B.P.A. have to respond with tear gas. You can even see in the picture that people are going over the border. And notice how very few people were actually willing to cross it in the picture above.

ReplyDeleteThe wall shouldn't be built, as its a waste of money. There can however be border control to prevent drugs etc to get in. Caravans are also very dangerous to all people.
